Getting here

Pick the approach before the hotel.

Phoenix, Las Vegas, Flagstaff, Sedona, Page, and Route 66 can all work. The right one depends on whether Grand Canyon is the whole trip or the crown jewel of a larger Southwest loop.

Arrival map

Grand Canyon is an approach, lodging-distance, and daylight decision before it is a viewpoint list.

Compare Phoenix, Las Vegas, Flagstaff, Williams, Tusayan, Sedona, and Page before choosing where to sleep or promising sunrise, Desert View, and a long road-trip day together.

  • Tap a marker to compare airports, gateway towns, and the road-trip shape each one supports.
  • Road lines are planning corridors; check NPS conditions, weather, shuttle details, and winter or storm alerts before driving.

Phoenix / Flagstaff

Often the simplest Arizona route, especially when Sedona, Flagstaff, or Route 66 shares the same trip.

Las Vegas

Useful for big Southwest loops, Hoover Dam, or lower airfare, but the drive is long enough to protect arrival light.

Page and the east side

Pairs well with Antelope Canyon, Horseshoe Bend, and Desert View when the road trip moves across northern Arizona.

Winter and monsoon checks

Snow, ice, summer storms, and road work can change the safest approach. Check official conditions before the final drive.
